Saturday 5 July: Mika, BB Brunes, Digitalism + guest

Sunday 6 July: Radiohead, Sigur Rós, The Dø, The Wombats

Also, MBV‘s Roskilde date is confirmed (via their site) as Saturday the 5th, so I guess I am hooped basically unless I somehow find enough cash to head back to Paris from Berlin on the 9th. Which seems unlikely. So now I have to hope they come to North America, and that I can afford a ticket. Le sigh.

They have some cute things set up: “You are encouraged to carpool to the show, and a VIP parking lot will be offered for any vehicle that is at full capacity regardless of the size – bus, large van, etc. All persons must be in a seat & have their seat belt on.”

That’s the rumour, that they’re playing the Main Square fest the same day as Radiohead. I could get behind that.

Now I’m just waiting for a convenient My Bloody Valentine date. Please?

On a Radiohead fansite, the only given is that we all love Radiohead. Even though some of us have …complicated relationships with the band.

So and Ty started a “Top 20 Radiohead Songs” thread, and people are, predictably, verklemmt. Looking at my iTunes in an effort to judge mine last year sometime, I came up with an unconvincing list. Mostly because I listen by album 98% of the time, and typically don’t skip a lot of songs on an album, although I may skip a lot of albums.

In any case, here is a semi-scientific list of my Top 20 Radiohead songs du jour, including version, the order of which is pretty damn arbitrary. And I mean I could very very easily have a Top 20 album release and Top 20 B-sides.

Tristero is a Radiohead friend. Unlike a lot of my Radiohead friends, I haven’t met her, although we do have some common acquaintance. She is a very talented graphic artist, IMO, and she’s given me permission to post some of her stuff here. She has the chops to execute the kinds of things I can only wish I could dream about.

I’ll be putting some of the things I like best in here, and I will pass along your comments.
